Since I saw the first images of this House I was captivated: both the imposing exterior and its interior details of great beauty have led me to design it as a complete miniature kit with its parts prepared for FDM 3D printers, in usual scales such as 20mm or 28mm. I hope you like it as much as I do, its strange elegance has me spellbound.
Witness of time
The Claremont House is an impressive family residence that was built in 1882 by Colonel Hamilton Yancey in Rome, Georgia.

The building remains intact today in the historic district of East Rome, and has always attracted the attention of visitors to nearby downtown Rome for its elaborate Second Empire-style Victorian architecture and personal mansard roof supported by its distinctive corbels. One of Georgia’s great historic buildings.

The family home built by Colonel Yancey became known as the Claremont House, and has long been an exclusive bed & breakfast in the Rome area.
In 2008 it became the setting for the film Dance of the Dead (directed by Gregg Bishop). A terrifying teen/zombie movie with large doses of humor.
A strange change of destiny
In 2021 something happened that was to change its destiny: The Victorian look and its elevated location on the grassy hills were perfect for Chris Trujillo, in charge of the production design of the famous series Stranger Things, to approach the new owners of the house and propose to them that it would form the main stage of the Netflix series; this home is what the creators were looking for, a house with vertical architecture and a gigantic attic on the third floor.
The Claremont House became the central axis of season 4 premiered in 2022, highlighting in episode 4×04 where Victor Creel tells the story of what happened to his family after moving to this residence: “Chapter Four: Dear Billy”
After the immense success of Stranger Things 4, in 2022 the property was again for sale on the real estate portal Toles, Temple & Wright, Inc It was recently acquired by its current owners for the figure of $1,600,000. A price at the height of a new icon of popular culture, forever converted into a global symbol of the horror genre.
